In&Out Staff Writers — Earlier this week, a group of volunteers delivered sleeping mats crocheted using plastic shopping bags for distribution to homeless veterans.

“Thanks to the dedication of these volunteers we were able to help 25 veterans sleep more comfortable and a little warmer,” said Mary Ann Derryberry, who organized the effort through Daisy Mountain Veterans.

The group used collection points in Anthem to gather bags. Each squishy mat required cutting and weaving more than 500 bags. Original Story on the Effort >>>
