By Robert Roy Britt — U-Haul got approval from the Anthem Community Council to roughly double the footprint of its self-storage facility in the Anthem Commerce Park. The company aims to expand to a 4-acre empty plot directly north of its existing facility on the west side of North Vision Way.

The new facility would include 93 storage units and more than 100 outdoor spaces for boats and RVs, a company representative said at the ACC’s monthly meeting last night. The current facility is full, and 26 individuals are on a waiting list for the outdoor spaces, the rep said.

The new buildings, at 42202 N. Vision Way, will mirror the existing design, and the two parcels will come together as one, the company rep said. The location backs up to West Ravina Lane in the Desert Terrace neighborhood, with about 125 feet of open space between residences and the commercial space.
