The Anthem area started the school day with more than the usual excitement as MCSO squad cars and a helicopter went in pursuit of at least one Boulder Creek High School student.

The incident began at the front office around 7:20 a.m. where three students “caused a disruption,” according to BCHS Principal Lauren Sheehan. When the campus officer responded to the incident, he was reportedly assaulted. Two students were taken into custody, but the third fled.

MCSO units responded as did Daisy Mountain Fire Department units, but DMFD Capt. Dave Wilson said no one was transported for medical treatment.

The pursuit ended in the desert just north of the Landing neighborhood where the suspect was brought into custody.

“The campus is safe and classes are running on a normal schedule.  Parent teacher conferences will take place as usual,” said Principal Sheehan in an email that was sent to BCHS parents this morning.
