Special Note

Due to some internal confusion with new boundaries for bulk-trash pickup by Republic Services, on Friday, Jan. 12, drivers did not pick up bulk trash in a small portion of the new Zone B in Anthem Country Club, said Terri Genandt, the company’s operations manager.

The area is bounded by Congressional Drive, Anthem Hills Drive and North River Bend Road.

That small area will be serviced Friday, Jan. 19, Genandt told Anthem News on Jan. 18. And for the remaining service dates in 2018, that small area will be serviced on both the Zone B and the Zone C schedules (thus two Fridays in a row), she said.

Otherwise, service to all zones (including the rest of B and C) will proceed per the schedule and map mailed to residents at the beginning of the year and seen above.

Bulk Trash Guidelines

According to Republic Services: Bulk trash should be placed at least 5 feet from any car, utility pole, water meter, etc. A pile should not exceed 6 cubic yards (6 feet high, 6 feet wide, 4 feet deep). Material should be neatly stacked or bagged, and piles should have a tarp underneath.

Tree branches and other vegetation must be less than 4 feet long and 12 inches in diameter, and must be bundled and tied. Grass clippings, leaves and other small vegetation should be bagged, tied and placed in the regular trash container.

Among items not accepted: hazardous waste, loose yard trimmings, bricks, concrete, roofing, rebar, fence posts, glass (including mirrors or glass doors), appliances with refrigerants.
